First of all, we dedicate this entire ministry to our Lord, Jesus Christ, and His saving message of grace. God created a perfect world and formed us in His image. He gave us free will to stay in fellowship with Him or break that fellowship by committing sin.
God knew that we would fall short of His perfect standard; so in His great love, He designed a salvation plan that would allow His perfect standard and perfect love to co-exist. He would leave His glory, come into our corrupted world, take on the flesh of a man and die for our sins.
Jesus rose from the grave in order to give us His righteousness, so we can have relationship with God through Him. Because of God’s gift of grace and our claim of faith, we are redeemed and stand perfect and holy before our Creator!
Once we have forgiveness of our sins, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit becomes our guide during our short time on this earth. He leads us into a life of meaning and helps us fulfill our God-given destiny. Our relationship with God continues after we die, and we will live in the presence of our God for eternity in heaven!
If you would like to accept Jesus into your heart today, please pray this prayer.
Dear God, I am a sinner. I fall short of Your glory and perfection. I want a relationship with You, but I know I can’t have it without the righteousness of Jesus cleansing my sins and making me whole. Please forgive my sins and redeem my brokenness. Give me the gift of the Holy Spirit, so I will not have to walk this life alone. Thank You for salvation through Jesus Christ. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”
Second of all, we dedicate this ministry to one of Granola Bar Devotional’s founding members, Jeannie de la Garza. Jeannie attended the very first GBD meeting in 2006; and before her untimely death in 2008, she spent the final two years of her life writing about her faith, leaving a written legacy for her family and friends.
Jeannie was a very private soul, and writing devotionals took her out of her comfort zone. However, she continued to share her heart and declare the “glorious deeds” of the Father. Her encouragement to the GBD writing team and her loyalty to the GBD Ministry continues even today.
Our prayer for the GBD Ministry is that it may exist as a writing platform for people who have faith stories they would like to share. We encourage everyone to leave a written legacy of God’s faithfulness, and we hope that our devotional writing ministry can play a small role in that effort.
To read a devotional written for Jeannie by her children, please read “Walk with God Now.”
